Over four days, we visited Tashkent and Khiva, took part in summarising the results of the International Week of Partnership Initiatives "New Uzbekistan: Development, Innovation and Education", visited polling stations, saw how the wonders of silk fabrics are created, visited the residence of the World Society for the Study, Preservation and Promotion of the Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan, as well as the headquarters of the national carrier, walked through the pavilions of the famous film studio "Uzbekfilm"... And, of course, talked to interesting people. In a word, as always here, the eyes were blessed with the happiness of experiencing beauty, the soul - the pleasure of warm hospitality, the heart - the joy of meeting friends and new acquaintances. UZBEK KALEIDOSCOPE
Extraordinary presidential elections were held in Uzbekistan on 9 July. The result was no surprise - the incumbent head of state, Shavkat Merziyoyev, won, with more than 15 million voters casting their ballots, with a turnout of 79.8 per cent. Our newspaper was one of 1300 media representatives from all over the world to receive accreditation to cover these elections, which means an opportunity to once again visit this amazing country, to get to know it better and to tell about it.
